ROCKFORD (WIFR) – The United Way kicked off its fall campaign with their annual Day of Caring.
First, they made sure their volunteers were well fed with breakfast at Franchesco’s. Then, they all went out into the community to help out. Volunteers helped clean up local parks, organize school libraries, even lay down carpeting. The idea is to live united. CEO Paul Logli says that means if we improve the quality of life for one local organization, we improve it for all.
“Nobody is going to come into Rockford and ride to our rescue and just remove all these problems. We can deal with the problems ourselves. We can build, more importantly, on the assets of our community and accomplish some great things,” said Logli.
