PLATTEVILLE, WI (WIFR) -- This is always a busy time for colleges preparing to welcome students back for the fall semester but for one nearby school the task has been monumental.
Nearly 60 days ago an EF-2 tornado ripped through the UW-Platteville campus causing millions of dollars in damage. Three of the residence halls were hit hard by the twister, but they will now be ready when students start moving in two days from now.
A few classroom windows still need to be replaced but university officials say they will get those done by the start of classes.
The biggest challenge now is the school's football field. They hope to have that going in time for Platteville's home opener on September 13th.
