ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Stateline is in for a spectacular show during Airfest 2013.
The US Navy's Blue Angels are the headlining act and stopped at the Rockford airport on Tuesday for a little preview. During the stop, two pilots did a pre-season visit of the airport to get a lay of the land. They got a tour of the show grounds and did safety checks. The Blue Angels were supposed to perform at Airfest 2011 but were forced to cancel. The pilots say the show this summer is about more than just fancy maneuvers.
“What we're really here for is to represent the Navy and the Marine Corps,” says Lt. Ryan Camberlain. “There are 550,000 sailors and Marines both here in the states and abroad and we're here to represent them."
Airfest 2013 runs June 1st and 2nd. Tickets will go on sale for just five bucks starting on December 14th.
