UPDATE: Armed Robbery Suspect Found Not Guilty

UPDATE: JANESVILLE (WIFR) – A man from Janesville accused of robbing a local fast food joint is now off the hook.

A jury says 29-year-old Christopher Tillman is not guilty of armed robbery.

Back on May 19, 2013, the Burger King on 11th Street was robbed. Tillman and 27-year-old Echo Miller were arrested in connection to the incident. Miller plead guilty back in November and is currently on three years’ probation after spending six months in jail.

FROM ROCKFORD POLICE: On Sunday, May 19th, 2013 shortly before 9:00 AM, Rockford Police Department patrol officers responded to the Burger King Restaurant located at 2434 11th Street in reference to an Armed Robbery. Upon arrival to the business, officers were provided with a description of the suspect and suspect vehicle which had fled from the scene. An undisclosed amount of United States currency was taken during the Armed Robbery.

Patrol officers located the suspect vehicle parked at an address in the 2600 block of 20th Avenue. Possible suspects were located and taken to the Public Safety Building for questioning.

Rockford Police Detectives conducted follow up investigation into the incident. The facts of the investigation were reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. The following charges were authorized:

Christopher L. Tillman, 28 years of age, Janesville, Wisconsin
Armed Robbery
Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery

Echo M. Miller, 27 years of age, Rockford, Illinois
Armed Robbery
Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery
