U of I and UW Extension Partner to Offer Landscape Professional Stateline Conference

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- University of Illinois Extension and University of Wisconsin Extension have collaborated to offer a Stateline landscape professionals conference on Friday, March 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at University of Wisconsin-Rock County, Williams Hall, lecture room 130, 2909 Kellogg Avenue, Janesville.

This half-day conference will provide arborists, landscapers, and other horticultural professionals up-to-date information from extension specialists from both U of I and UW Extensions. Certified arborists will receive 1.5 CEUs for completing the training.

Registration is $20 per person, which includes continental breakfast and four education sessions.

The sessions include: 1) Overcoming the Challenges of Operation a Seasonal Business, presented by Bud Gayhart, Director of the Center for Innovation & Business Development UW-Whitewater; 2) Insect Pest Predictions for 2014, presented by Dr. Phil Nixon, Extension Entomologist, Department of Crop Sciences, U of I Extension; 3) Invasive Plant Management Techniques, presented by Dr. Mark Renz, Assistant Professor, UW-Extension Weed Specialist, UW Madison; and 4) Marketing and Social Media for the Green Industry, presented by Cindy Leverenz, Professor, Blackhawk Technical College.
