Two Rockford Residents Robbed At Gunpoint, Dog Killed

ROCKFORD (WIFR) – A Rockford resident was shot, the other battered and their dog shot dead after two men robbed their house. It happened around 8 p.m. Saturday night when two men approached the house on the 900 block of West Street and rang the doorbell.

One of the victims answered the door and was grabbed by the throat and shoved back into the house. When the two suspects saw the second victim they shot him in his chest. The two victims broke free and locked themselves in their bedroom. They heard another gunshot and waited several minutes before opening the door to call police.

Police say upon their arrival they found a man shot in his chest and a dog shot and killed. The man was immediately sent to the local hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening.

The two suspects wanted are described as two men both in their 20s. One suspect is 5’ 10” tall around 175 pounds and was last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie and blue jeans. The second suspect is also 5’ 10” tall around 170 pounds last seen wearing a grey hoodie with a white shirt underneath.
