Two Janesville Men Arrested After Shots Fired

JANESVILLE, WI (WIFR) -- Two Janesville men are in custody after police investigated a shots fired complaint.

Police say just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, a shots fired complaint was reported just to the south of the 1700 block of Cottonwood Drive.

About 10 minutes later, more gunfire was heard in the area while police were investigating the scene. It was determined shots came from a home in the 2900 block of Black Bridge Road. After unsuccessfully calling the residents, three people came out before 3 a.m. after verbally challenging them. Two children were found inside the home sleeping. No injuries were reported.

After a search warrant was in place after 5 a.m., police say they found shell casings from a .45 caliber handgun outside of the home. An AK-47 assault rifle and a .45 caliber handgun was found.

27-year-old Andre L. Dozer has been arrested for reckless endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. 23-year-old Nathan A. Meehan-Hill has been arrested for reckless endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon and a probation hold.

Additional charges may still be pending. The investigation remains ongoing.
