ROCK COUNTY (WIFR) -- A Stephenson County man who was on his way to pick up his oldest son from jail, is arrested for allegedly driving drunk and crashing his car.
Around 3:30 a.m. Monday Rock County emergency crews were called to CTH H just north of STH 11, in Center Township, for a single vehicle rollover crash. When deputies got to the scene they found a 2009 Pontiac G8 sitting upright in a farm field, with severe damage.
The driver, Johnny Webb, 37, of Orangeville, IL and his 13 year-old son were waiting by the side of the road. Deputies say Webb admitted to drinking before the accident and said he was on his way to the Rock County Sheriff's Office to pick up his oldest son who had been released from jail.
Investigators say Webb was traveling northbound on CTH H traveling at a speed Webb estimated was around 70 mph. Webb crested a large hill and became airborne. When the vehicle landed, it flipped end over end approximately three times, coming to rest in the farm field.
Webb and his 13 year old son were taken to Mercy Hospital. Webb is still in the Hospital being treated. His 13 year-old son sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Webb was arrested for: OWI Injury With Passenger Under The Age Of 16 (Felony), OWI 2nd With Passenger Under The Age of Sixteen (Felony), and Speed-To Fast For Conditions.
