BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- On Friday, March 22, 2013, the Belvidere Police Department Narcotic Unit arrested two individuals on drug charges.
18-year-old Max Cox of Belvidere was charged with one count of unlawful delivery of cannabis (class 3 felony). He remains in custody of the Boone County Jail on no bond.
Gary Storez, 25, also of Belvidere was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Storez remains in custody of the Boone County Jail on a $1,500 (10%) bond.
On the morning of March 22, 2013 Belvidere Police executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 400 block of Kishwaukee Street, Belvidere. Police seized cannabis, pills, drug paraphernalia, drug packaging materials, an electronic scale, and U.S. currency.
After the search warrant was executed, police notified the Belvidere Building Department who later condemned the residence.
The arrests of Cox and Store concluded a 2-week long investigation by the Belvidere Police Narcotic Unit. The investigation continues and additional charges and/or arrests are possible.
A class 3 felony is punishable by 2-5 years in the department of corrections.
