ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Education and high crime are just two of the subjects being brought up at meetings across the Stateline aimed at Transforming Rockford.
This is the second-to-last community visioning session for the first wave of the plan at the Rockford Art Museum.
Dozens of people showed up to offer their input on how to make the Rockford area a better place.
“Some common themes around some similar topics, generally regarding education, that’s been high, jobs and economic development have also been high and people have been sharing their ideas, what a great Rockford looks like and not just how to get a little bit better," said Transform Rockford Executive Director Mike Schablaske.
The next community visioning session will be held Sunday, February 9th from 2-4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Loves Park. There will then be a second round of sessions and by April, strategy sessions will kick off where a specific vision will be developed.
