ROCKFORD (WIFR) – We are halfway through the $110 million Woodward Construction process and today we were able to get an exclusive tour of the new facility which will bring hundreds of high paying jobs to Loves Park.
We’re told the project is still on schedule to be completed a year from now. The president of Ringland Johnson, the company hired to construct the 9-figure project, says this is no small feat considering the incredibly harsh winter Rockford has seen this year.
Woodward President Sager Patel tells us the project was also expanded from a 300 square foot facility to a 450 square foot facility.
“Once we did our homework on how our production lines are going to look like. How much work we had ahead of us and anticipated future growth we wanted to make sure that this building is set up for the next 30 to 50 years so we don't have to keep expanding,” said Patel.
Woodward will plan on hiring 175 people to start over the next year. That number could rise depending on market demand.
