ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A Stateline landmark is in the national spotlight after being featured on the SyFy Network.
The show "Ghost Hunters" hunted for spirits for four days this Summer at the Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum in Rockford. Museum staff think members of the Tinker Family who passed away in the home still roam the halls. More than a hundred people watched the show Wednesday night at Veteran's Memorial Hall. A few moments were pretty eerie, but for some, they weren't totally unexpected.
The museum offers paranormal tours every Friday at 7pm. There is also going to be a special Day of the Dead Celebration at the Tinker Swiss Cottage on November 3.
Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum in Rockford will be featured on an upcoming episode of "Ghost Hunters." Paranormal investigators filmed at the museum for about four days in July. Museum leaders say they did find paranormal activity in some places including the library. They say they're excited to be on TV and hope the segment brings some publicity to Rockford.
"Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum and Gardens will be features on a national TV show that will highlight not just Tinker's ghosts but Rockford and promises I think to bring us a lot of visitors, tourism," said Board President Ruth Little.
The show featuring Tinker Swiss will air on October 24th. They'll also have a watching party that night at veterans memorial hall. A few speakers tied to some spooky history like serial killer Dr. H H. Holmes will also be on hand.
