Three Teens Arrested For Carjacking at Olympic Tavern

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Three teens are arrested after they allegedly stole a car at a Rockford bar and restaurant.

Police were called to the Olympic Tavern on North Main Street just after 1 a.m. Tuesday for an Armed Robbery where shots were fired. The victims told police that three suspects approached their vehicle, and told them to get out. As the victims were getting out of the car, the driver questioned the suspects. That's when one suspect struck the driver with a handgun and fired the gun into the air.

The three suspects then drove off in the car. Officers later spotted the stolen car and attempted to pull it over near the intersection of Auburn and Irving. The car fled and was able to get away from pursuing officers.

The car was again spotted by officers near School Street. The car attempted to flee again but eventually stopped at Talcott Page Park near Avon St and Arthur Avenue.

An 18 year old and two 16 year old males were arrested.

Police found a rifle inside the car. Names and photos have not been released at this time and charges are pending.
