THOMSON (WIFR) -- We should know when Thomson Prison will open within the next couple of weeks. U.S. Senator Dick Durbin tells us the Department of Justice has moved forward its preliminary steps needed to begin upgrading the facility, and hiring employees. Durbin says when President Obama’s budget is released, it should include funding to open the prison, but right now no timeline is set.
