ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- This winter was harsh on everyone, but especially on those who couldn't afford warm clothes. So now is our time to help make sure, even as we inch into spring, the homeless and underprivileged have enough clothes.
The Salvation Army is collecting new and gently used items to restock the racks at it's area stores. Volunteers were collecting everything from coats and shirts, to pants and shoes. The organization says donations dropped this winter as many of us stayed home, out of the cold.
"People that have maybe a little bit more than what the average person has. The person that don't have something that's how it helps out, one hand helps out the other."
If you missed the donation drive, but have some items you'd like to get rid of. Just drop them off at any of the salvation army family stores.
