Testing School Security Costs Beloit Man

BELOIT (WIFR) -- The Stateline man who allegedly tried to test Converse Elementary school's security system was found guilty today.

Dwight Miller Sr. didn't contest the charges of disorderly conduct, so he'll have to pay $243 by April 4.

Back in December, just days after the Sandy Hook shooting, Miller showed up at the elementary school dressed in camouflage and tried to open a side door.

Miller said he was just testing them, and he even told one of the students through the door not to open it.

The school principal says students were never in any danger.
