Terminal Expansion Green Lit By Rockford Airport

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford Airport approves a plan to expand its passenger terminal.

The airport says the number of passengers who pass through the airport keeps growing to the point where the FAA says the airport terminal isn't big enough.

The airport hopes to begin work on expanding its terminal this fall. The project could cost nearly 20 million dollars but potentially 18 million would be paid by the FAA.

The project could take up to four years to complete however the airport will still operate during construction.
