Teenager Arrested for Making Threat on Facebook

UPDATE: The Rockford teen who threatened to shoot up a local high school made his first court appearance this afternoon.

18-year-old Austin Florea has been charged with making a terrorist threat, which is considered a felony. Police tell us he posted the threat on his Facebook page, followed by quote "everyone will find out how crazy I am by the time I am gone."

Florea doesn't attend the high school he allegedly made threats against, but police say he was angry with someone who goes there.


ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A teenager is now in custody after police say he threatened to shoot up a local high-school on his Facebook page, saying "Everyone will find out how crazy I am by the time I’m gone.” He's referring to a housing move in the next month.

Rockford police took this threat very seriously and acted immediately.18-year-old Austin Florea is now in jail. He's charged with falsely making a terrorist threat, which is a felony.

We're told he is not a student at the school, but was very angry with someone who goes there. Florea's post said he was " turned crazy.” Again, he is in custody.
