Pecatonica, Ill. – On Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at approximately 9:27 a.m., an Illinois State Trooper witnessed a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Seminary Street and Blackhawk Park Avenue in Rockford, Illinois.
A silver Pontiac and red Dodge van were involved in the crash. The 16-year-old male driver of the Pontiac attempted to flee from the scene of the crash on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, the juvenile was taken in to custody by the Trooper.
The driver of the Dodge received minor injury and was transported to a local hospital. The juvenile was found to be in possession of over 34 grams of cocaine, .3 grams of heroin, 12 grams of cannabis, over $600 cash, and a Smith and Wesson M&P15-22 semi-automatic rifle. The weapon was loaded and was reported stolen to the Rockford Police Department in 2011.

All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until the government is able to prove its charges in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A teenager is arrested after a car crash Tuesday morning, after an Illinois state trooper watched it all go down.
It happened near the intersection of Seminary and Blackhawk in Rockford. A 16-year-old boy allegedly tired to runaway after the crash, he was taken in to custody after a brief foot chase. That's when the trooper found he had cocaine, heroin, pot and a stolen semi-automatic rifle. The teen faces multiple drug and gun related charges. The driver of the other was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
