Teen Arrested, Accused of Stealing Donation Jar

LOVES PARK (WIFR) -- An observant worker helps Loves Park Police catch the person they say stole a donation jar from a local store.

Jacob Johnson, 18, is charged with burglary and possession of marijuana. Officers say he stole the donation jar from the Dollar General store on North Alpine Friday night.

Investigators say an employee from a neighboring store saw Johnson get into a car and wrote down the license plate number. Officers went to the vehicle owners address and found Johnson.

Thomas Boyd, Katheryn Burzell, Nicholas Smith, and a 17-year-old were also arrested. Smith is charged with obstructing justice. The others with conspiracy to commit burglary and drug charges.
