BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- On Tuesday, March 12, 2013, the Belvidere Police Department Narcotic Unit arrested a subject on multiple drug charges.
26-year-old Eduardo Almanza III, a known gang member, of Sycamore, IL, was charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (Cocaine) within 1000 feet of a church (class x felony). Almanza remains in the Boone County Jail on a $100,000.00 (10%) bond.
On Tuesday, march 12, 2013, Belvidere Police, Sycamore Police, and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Police, took Almanza into custody at a residence located in the 1800 block of Kerrybrook court, Sycamore, Illinois. At the time of arrest, police seized U.S. currency and a vehicle.
Almanza’s arrest concluded a three month investigation by the Belvidere Police narcotics unit; additional charges and/or arrests are possible.
A class x felony is punishable by six (6) to thirty (30) years in the department of corrections.
