Suspect in Custody After Shooting in Beloit

BELOIT (WIFR) --A Janesville man is behind bars after a shooting Sunday on Broad Street.

On Sunday December 22, 2013 at about 1:41a.m. Beloit Police Officers were in the municipal parking located at 325 Broad Street when they heard several gunshots. Upon further investigation, it was determined that two victims had sustained gunshot wounds while in this parking lot.

Beloit Fire Department evaluated both victims on scene and released one with non-life threatening injuries, and transported the other to a local hospital.

Several witnesses reported that the shooting suspect was fleeing on foot in the parking lot. Officers from the Beloit Police Department located the suspect at the scene and took him into custody without incident. Thamar Keithern Harper, 29, from Janesville is charged with First-Degree Attempted Homicide, and held at the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.
