ROCK COUNTY (WIFR) -- On May 16, 2013, at 6:00PM, the Rock County Communications Center received an abandoned 911 call at 703 Carol Street, Apartment K, in Clinton, Wisconsin. The sole Clinton PD officer was dispatched to make contact at that location to determine the reason for the call. Shortly after he arrived on scene, he reported being attacked by the resident at that location, Terry P. Robinson (M/W, DOB:12-19-1954).

The Clinton PD officer was unable to quickly control the suspect and called for assistance. An extensive and violent struggle ensued during which, Robinson was able to disarm the officer. Robinson then attempted to fire the weapon point-blank at the officer. The officer was able to disable the firearm prior to the round being discharged. Shortly thereafter, an off-duty Beloit PD officer who was nearby at the time of the call arrived on scene, followed by deputies from the Rock County Sheriff's Office and on-duty officers from Beloit PD. Robinson continued to struggle but was able to be controlled and was taken into custody.

Neither the officer or suspect involved in this incident appeared to have any serious injuries, however, the suspect was taken to the Beloit Memorial Hospital for evaluation. At this time, Detectives from the Rock County Sheriff's Office are conducting an on-going investigation into this incident, however, at this time; Robinson is being arrested for Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide, Battery to a Police Officer and Disarming a Police Officer.
