ROCKFORD (WIFR) – More than a dozen Stateliners say they are lucky to be alive after nearly dying in sudden medical emergencies over the last year. Tonight, Rockford First Responders are meeting survivors for the first time since saving their lives.
At tonight’s event, 14 people have a happy ending and are able to tell a tale of survival. One of the survivors is baby Emmanuel. He was not breathing when emergency responders arrived to his house the day he was delivered.
Maria and Phillip Robinson have spent the last five months counting their blessings after their first born son Emmanuel unexpectedly arrived at home on the couch, unable to take his first breath alone.
The emergency responders who were there that December night remember every detail of the 9-1-1 call that ended up saving the baby’s life.
The couple will meet the emergency responders who helped save baby Emmanuel for the first time.
