BELVIDERE (WIFR) – Some Belvidere students have raised thousands of dollars for a charity that provides clean water to villages in other countries.
The DECA chapter at Belvidere High School chose to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills by holding fundraisers for Water.org.
Over the last month, all of the funds from a comedy night, exhibits and a battle of the bands were saved to donate to the charity.
"To recognize that this donation is going to provide 600 people with access to clean water for a lifetime, it's really amazing,” said senior Haley Gustafson.
In total, students raised $15,000 to hand over to Water.org.
