ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Students at the University of Illinois’ College of Medicine are showing off their effort.
For research day, students from area schools, including Rockford University and Northern Illinois University are presenting exhibits on whatever projects they’re focusing on.
Some of those studies include addressing health disparities locally and screening for domestic violence. Professors say this will help students become better doctors.
"It's so important to provide evidence-based medicine. And so these are opportunities for them to really understand that concept and to go on and practice in a responsible, effective way,” said Assistant Professor Dr. Alesia Hawkins.
Research Day has been held now for nearly two decades.
