ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Students at Rockford Christian schools are taking care of the homeless today in a holiday celebration.

They prepared meals for all who attended and students also handed out toys they collected earlier for children and clothes and toiletries for adults. Rockford Christian Schools has devoted time during the holiday season to help the homeless for almost thirty years.

“It’s a time when they learn a lot from people and what it’s like for some people out on the streets but for the people who come here, they’re equally as blessed because many of them do not have kids to be around,” said Holiday Program Director Paula Rasanen.
