ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- One of Rockford's private schools is partnering with the park district to help create a more interactive classroom for middle school students.
Today, students at Keith Country Day school used the Nicholas Conservatory to study science, the arts, and community service.
The kids learned about the daily operations of the facility and its sustainability. The idea is to get kids out of a traditional classroom and into a more interactive environment to spark their interest.
“It's really fun. It's a lot more fun than sitting learning math, to actually walk around and see everything and learn about it hands on,” said 8th grader Eric Henschen.
Keith school leaders say they look forward to working with the conservatory in the future.
