Students Explore Manufacturing Careers

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Some local companies are trying to build the Stateline's workforce, by training more people for the manufacturing field.

Factories across the country and here at home are opening their doors to the public in honor of “National Manufacturing Day"

Jefferson High School students got a firsthand look at " RJ Link”, a local business that designs custom gear boxes for airport snow blowers and railroad switch engines. Some students even took job applications, in hopes of starting their career.

UTC Aerospace Systems and Forest City Gear also participated in today's tour.
