Students Compete in Math Meet; Team Advances to State

Beloit (WI) – Aldrich Middle School math team was added to the list of competitors advancing to the state-level Mega Math Meet at Edgewood College this May. Beloit sent two combined fifth and sixth grade, and two combined seventh and eighth grade teams to compete in the Math Meet in Stoughton, on April 16 & 17.

The fifth- and sixth-grade teams competed on the first day, and Cunningham fifth-grader, Ben Leisher, placed 2nd out of 64 competitors.

The seventh- and eighth-grade team competed the second day, and had 2 students place in the top 5. Seventh-grader Devin Wolf placed 5th and eighth-grader Beanna Sorenson earned a perfect score, earning 1st place out of 64 competitors. The seventh- and eighth-grade team from Aldrich placed 1st and will advance to the state competition, the Mega Math Meet, on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Edgewood College.
