STERLING (WIFR) -- A Sterling man is arrested after allegedly stabbing three family members inside a home in the 1000 block of West 4th Street.

Sometime around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, officers arrived at the home where they found three victims that had been stabbed by 41 year old Richard Snyder. Snyder had fled the scene before police had arrived. The three victims were transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

While investigating, officers received a report matching Snyder's description in the 800 block of West 4th Street. Snyder was eventually located and arrested after a second 911 call reported seeing him walking across the Avenue G Bridge.

During his arrest, police say Snyder hit an officer but that officer was not injured.

Snyder is being held at the Whiteside County Jail. Police are still investigating the incident.
