Stateline Spotlight: Woman Finds Hope After Shooting

By  |

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It’s been more than 5 years since a local woman was shot at a Stateline barbecue, leaving her paralyzed from the chest down. It was what police called a random attack and one the victim now looks at with optimism.

“I’ve learned not to take things for granted. I’m able to appreciate the little things more.”

Tonight’s Stateline Spotlight focuses on Jenna Stahl’s journey as she works every day to get stronger mentally and physically. An unknown gunman on Tacoma Avenue randomly shot Stahl during a Labor Day get-together in 2008. Since then, she hasn’t been able to feel from the chest down, making every day difficult.

Tonight at 10, we’ll share her story and her remarkable comeback.
