ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Stateline cops are bringing a whole new meaning to "Protect and Serve"
Dozens of officers spent their lunch hours in Texas Roadhouse dishing up a free meal.
It's all to raise money for the Special Olympics. In exchange for a free pulled pork sandwich and sides, diners were asked to leave a donation at their tables.

"The main goal here is to assist the athletes, the Special Olympics athletes and their families. They have no cost to participate in the athletic competitions, their lodgings, that's what's important."
