ILLINOIS (WIFR) -- Today dozens of local manufacturers are calling on lawmakers to help revive our economy. This morning, employees from Illinois’ tooling and manufacturing association sat down with state and federal representatives to talk about the uncertainty surrounding the industry.
"If our policy makers don’t get a good hard look they are going to kill the golden goose because the fact of the matter is for every manufacturing job there are three to five other jobs created and these are the types of jobs that communities want because they are middle income jobs,” said President Brian McGuire.
State Representative Joe Sosnowski, Senator Dave Syverson, Congressman Adam Kinzinger and Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey made up today's panel at Stockholm inn. The group talked about the state of our economy, saying manufacturing plays a major role in our future. The TMA is made of nearly 1,000 members across the state.
