WCAS Offering "Spring a Pet" Adoption Special

ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Winnebago County Animal Services wants you to “Spring a Pet” by adopting one from the shelter at 4517 North Main Street, so it’s offering half off the regular adoption fee for all adult cats and dogs over 1 year old. The spring adoption special is available from Monday, April 8 through Saturday, April 13, 2013. Adoptions are limited to one per household at this special adoption fee.

The Spring a Pet adoption fee for all adults cats one year and older is $20 each and all adult dogs one year and older are $55 each. This offer also includes adult cats for adoption at Winnebago County Animal Services’ off-site adoption centers located inside the Machesney Park Petsmart and Teri’s Aqualand in both Loves Park and Roscoe.

All adoptions include a free wellness exam, spay or neuter, microchip, vaccinations including a one year rabies shot, flea and tick preventative, worming, and bag of food. All adult dogs are heartworm tested. Winnebago County residents who adopt a cat or dog also receive a one year Winnebago County rabies tag.

Winnebago County Animal Services currently has over 30 adult cats and over 20 adult dogs that need homes. The Spring a Pet adoption special is sponsored by the Winnebago County Animal Services Volunteer Auxiliary.
