SOUTH BELOIT (WIFR) -- Three police officers in South Beloit are being honored for going above and beyond their call of duty.

Officers Stephanie Ruzka, Daniel Zintec, and James Sanders were on duty at the Fly and Jay Truck Stop when Benjamin Patrick collapsed waiting in the check out line. The three officers performed CPR and used a defibrillator to revive Patrick. The three officers are being honored tonight at 7:00 for their service. Although the three officers are humbled to be honored, they say they were just doing their jobs.

Patrick is alive and well and will be undergoing heart testing and possibly surgery. Doctors say the chance of surviving a heart attack outside a hospital is close to 18 percent.

As far as critiquing these writers for exemplifying the outstanding work of the officers, you should make sure that YOUR grammar is correct.

I agree nita. The officers deserve recongition and if nothing else to have their names spelled correctly. It's Dan ZINTAK. Thanks to those three for their willingness to act when needed.

And Dan ZINTAK. Looks like someone didn't do all of their homework before writing up this article.
