Keiti Steward is serving hot meals instead of eating one around the dinner table with family. It's not stopping her from enjoying Christmas.

"I'm happy they're coming in because if it weren't for my customers I wouldn't have a job."

This is Steward's 5th year serving up pancakes on Christmas. She says today is no different when you love what you do.

"I get so socialize and play with food and get paid for it."

Steward isn't the only one clocking in today. Employees at sunrise say they typically make a a lot more on holidays.

"There's a lot of people who come here who don't have families so it's nice to be able to give them a little bit of Christmas."

"All of the people here are just fabulous so I don't mind coming to work any day."

A lot of local gas stations are keeping the lights on this holiday, and giving people a chance to fill up their tanks and grocery bags.

"It was a very good Christmas day for Denny's"

Steward says people are extra generous with their tips on holidays, making it all the more worth while.
