ILLINOIS (WIFR) -- Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to underage drinking parties, and a Sterling couple has found that out the hard way.
A law that just took effect holds parents liable even if they don't have a clue minors are drinking at their home. Police say they arrested six Whiteside County teens on their way home from a party Saturday night.
The teens told police they had been drinking at Bradley Free and Sandra Garcia’s home. The couple could be slapped with a $500 fine.
