Simon Peter Nelson Protest Hearing Set for Tuesday

Simon Peter Nelson

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The father who bludgeoned his six children to death with a mallet and knife in 1978 is up for parole.

Winnebago County States Attorney Joe Bruscatto will be in Dixon Tuesday to protest Simon Peter Nelson's release. The process has been going on for nearly two decades. If Nelson committed that crime under today's law he would be sentenced to life in prison.
