ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- On November 13, Rockford Police officers responded to a report of five gunshots being fired and a vehicle colliding with a stop sign and a fire hydrant at the intersection of Anderson St. & Johnston Avenue.
Officers were able to find the crashed vehicle, a beige 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora coupe, and observed that the rear window had been shot out. The vehicle was unoccupied and officers did not find the driver or any occupants.
A caller advised they saw a 5' 9" man with stocky build wearing a red hat, black sweatshirt, and grey pants walking from the area. The subject was last seen northbound on Henrietta Avenue. Officers have not found the man or determined if he was involved.
It is unknown if there were any injuries. Officers did not find any victims at the scene, shell casings, or other evidence of gunfire aside from the shot out window.
