ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Volunteers are out in full force at two Rockford schools.
It's all part of Sharefest, a community service project that started helping area schools back in 2007.
Workers will makeover Mcintosh Elementary to launch district 205's "21st century learning facilities" initiative.
They'll also take on the Dennis Early Childhood Center so it can be re-opened in the fall.
Volunteers we spoke with say they know they've got a challenge ahead of them.
Angela Lundin says, "The library behind me is getting a total makeover, and there'll be technology in this area and we're bringing it up to the 21st century. So we're kinda using this as a model of what the future will look like in the Rockford Public Schools. "
Volunteers are scheduled to work on the schools until next Saturday.
