ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Checks are coming to more than 100 families impacted by flooding along Keith Creek when major storms washed out parts of that neighborhood back in 2007.
On Monday, the Rockford city council signed off on a settlement that will pay families a total of $2.5 million dollars. The money will be handed out in three equal installments of about $833,000. The first one will come in the next two weeks, the second one this February, then a final payment in February 2015. Many of the homes in that area have been taken down and turned into green space.
