ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- An alleged drunk driving crash sends a Rockford man to jail and another to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
The crash happened Sunday night around 10:30 p.m. in the 700 block of 9th Street.Rockford police say the driver Kenny Harris, 31, was heading north on 9th Street when he lost control of his Jeep near the Railroad Avenue viaduct. The Jeep hit the curb, rolled over into an empty lot and ended upside down in a creek. Moore's passengers a 29 year old man was thrown out of the Jeep, he's in critical condition. A 27 year old woman and Harris received minor injuries in the crash. Harris faces a handful of charges. He's in jail with no bond. The crash is under investigation.
Police have closed the 700-1000 blocks of 9th Street until further notice. Officers are on the scene investigating a serious car crash. The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night. We're told police expect the road to be closed until at least 4:00 a.m.
