ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The state’s largest professional association of psychologists has honored Senator Dave Syverson (R-Rockford) as their “Legislator of the Year.”
The Illinois Psychological Association (IPA) presented Syverson with the award for his long time public and personal commitment to ensuring that those with mental illness receive access to quality and affordable treatment.
“I am very honored to receive this recognition from the IPA. This organization has been a vital resource to those of us in Springfield dealing with the complexity of mental health services and funding in Illinois,” said Syverson, Public Health Committee Republican Spokesman.
The IPA has approximately 1,200 members in Illinois and is affiliated with the American Psychological Association which has 150,000 members.
