ROCK COUNTY, WI (WIFR) -- The driver of a semi-trailer truck rolled over at a roundabout in Rock County Wednesday morning, shutting down the intersection.
After midnight Wednesday, Rock County Sheriff's deputies, Milton police and Milton fire responded to westbound State Highway 59 and northbound County Highway M.
Police say they found the passenger side of the Chicago man's semi-trailer truck laying in the middle of State Highway 59. 53-year-old Robert Russell was standing in the cab. He was extricated and taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center for minor injuries.
According to preliminary investigation, Russell was driving too fast to make the roundabout for conditions and struck the middle of the roundabout. That caused the load he was hauling to shift, which made the vehicle tip on its passenger side into the middle of State Highway 59. The trailer was carrying non-hazardous materials. All contents stayed inside the trailer.
State Highway 59 was shut down for several hours while the contents of the trailer were loaded into another.
Russell has been cited for driving too fast for conditions.
