UPDATE: Lockdown Lifted at Dakota Schools

UPDATE: The lockdown has been lifted. We've been told sheriffs are staying in the area to ensure student safety.


DAKOTA (WIFR) -- Dakota Schools were placed on lock-down after shots were reportedly fired in the distance.

Gun shots were reportedly fired in the distance while students were outside for recess.

The students were brought back inside the school and the school was placed on lock-down as the sheriff's department was called.

The Sheriff's Department is currently investigating the situation. Currently there is no immediate threat to students.
