Santa’s Village Azoosment Park Hosts Carousel for a Cause

East Dundee (WIFR) -- In honor of the restoration of its historical carousel by resident artist Dutch Akers, Santa’s Village Azoosment Park reached out to six local, not-for-profit organizations and provided each with a replica of a carousel horse to decorate.

The finished replicas will be revealed at a special park event and displayed at the park for the season, after which they will be returned to their respective charities to do with as they choose.

Anderson Animal Shelter, Boys & Girls Club of Rockford, Clearbrook, March of Dimes Northeast Division, Operation North Pole, and Willowbrook Wildlife Center were all participating organizations.

Tyler Berens, Caitlyn Carlson and Jillian Yoakum (L-R) of the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford put the finishing touches on an antique carousel horse for the Santa’s Village Azoosment Park Carousel for a Cause initiative. After being displayed in the park for the 2013 season, this horse will be given back to the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford to use as an auction item or for display.
