Salvation Army Summer Garden Ministry Begins May 6

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Salvation Army Summer Garden Ministry at Anderson Japanese Gardens will kick off with Major Christine Merritt along with Jodi Beach, of Jodi Lynn Beach Ministries, as the guest musician.

The ministries are held every Tuesday morning beginning on May 6, 2014, and ending on September 30, 2014, 7:00 to 7:30 a.m. at Anderson Japanese Gardens, 318 Spring Creek Rd., Rockford, IL

For over 15 years, Anderson Japanese Gardens has partnered with The Salvation Army to present a summer garden ministry with guest speakers and musicians at the gardens. The community will gather in a tent erected right off the main entrance to the garden by long-time Army friends, John and Linda Anderson. People will be able to enjoy singing, prayer, special music and a devotional message.

The public is invited to attend this time-honored, summer tradition and to stay afterwards for a cup of coffee while wandering the gardens free of charge.
