BOONE COUNTY (WIFR) -- The Salvation Army in Boone County is sending out an urgent call for toy and food donations to meet the needs of the children and families it will serve this Christmas season.
New, unwrapped toys for boys and girls through age 12 and non-perishable food items may be brought to The Salvation Army at 422 South Main Street in Belvidere by Monday, December 9. Items can be dropped off Monday - Friday, between 9 - 11:45 a.m. and 1 - 4 p.m.
Toy and food donations are down this year. It is the Army’s goal that no child in its programs goes wanting. Each year, The Salvation Army in Boone County distributes food and toys to approximately 400 needy families each Christmas. Help is needed now to meet this goal.
