The Menard's on Perryville says so far this year they've sold 250,000 pounds of salt, and that's just in the last 11 days.

Menard's says thousands of pounds are being delivered each week as the weather has remains slippery and icy.

They say in the last decade they've never seen salt fly off the shelves so quickly. Each bag they say typically weighs fifty pounds and costs just under $15.00, and with an 11% rebate on salt, people are buying in bulk.

Menard's says every hour they are replenishing 350 bags worth of salt on days like today when the black ice starts to kick in again.

Customers say they've using over a hundred pounds of salt on just their driveway alone.
